I love sharing business tips with my fellow photographers – I genuinely believe that helping others get ahead is what will make our industry better, not more competitive.
I do this by sharing my best tips and insights in my weekly blog, but I also love sharing other photographer’s work too – like this post last week if you missed it, from the lovely Amelia and Dan.
But lately I’ve been thinking about some other ways I can connect with you, my fellow photogs, and I love listening to podcasts – then it hit me, why not do a podcast…so I am!
We all have different styles of learning and ways we like to consume information. Some people like to read blogs, for other people video works better, and then there’s those who like to listen – and that’s where podcasts come into their own.
I’ve recently become obsessed with podcasts. If you’re one of those people that spends your life multitasking (like me!) they’re ideal. I listen to them while driving, doing the dishes, walking the dog – even while changing a diaper! I just pop my earphones in and I’m in heaven.
Some of my favorites include ‘Online Marketing Made Easy’ hosted by the awesome Amy Porterfield, and ‘Entrepreneur on Fire’ hosted by John Lee Dumas is another good one.
I love that you can just plug in, listen and learn anywhere, anytime that suits you.
To be honest with you, I’m not a huge blog reader. This is mainly because I don’t have a lot of time, so even if I do see one I’m interested in, I’ll usually bookmark it with all the best intentions of reading it later, and then promptly forget about it when life gets in the way.
Which is why I’ve decided to make the switch from regular blogging to podcasting.
I am so excited about switching things up in my business. I still get to connect with my awesome community (that’s you!) and you can still access all of my business tips and tricks, only now it’s in a way that’s super easy and accessible for you, and fits in around your life and busy schedule.
I know I listen to podcasts way more than I read blogs…plus I do prefer a good chat to sitting down and writing, and from the amazing feedback I’ve received from those who’ve tuned into my live webinars, I’m a pretty natural conversationalist 😉
So very soon I’ll be sharing all my juicy business tips via podcasts. That’s not to say I won’t still do the odd blog post when the mood strikes me, but this will be the main way I share my business wisdom from now on.
Once everything is up and running I’ll share all the details with you here, so keep your eyes peeled (and your ears open) for the first episodes coming soon!
Oh and, p.s.….I’ve come up a with a name for the podcast that I’m pretty happy with, but I’d love to hear from you in the comments below any suggestions that you have, you never know, you may just be able to change my mind!

I never listen to podcasts and prefer to read blogs, so I can easily refer back to them or print them out with good information. While I do multitask (that’s why I have two screens for when I’m working) I pretty much hate listening to talking.
Hi Susannah! Thank you for your feedback. I will still have a post corresponding to each podcast, and I also plan to have free downloads for the podcasts too like cheat sheets and guides. So you will still be able to print the content out to reference later.
