I’m so excited that things have finally come together for me to launch my podcast. Life has definitely been getting in the way of this, but things are finally ready. I wanted to make sure that I gave you a few episodes to dig into before I started releasing one a week. I’m still going to be delivering you the same sweet business info, so don’t worry about the content changing. A podcast seemed like the natural choice since we all lead such busy lives. I know I always intend to read that blog post I bookmarked, but somehow I never get to it. With this new delivery method you can take each episode with you and listen in the car, between shoots, or whenever it’s convenient for you!
As I move forward with this podcast, I want to make sure I cover all of the topics you need help with in your business, so if there is something you especially want to hear please just drop me a note and let me know. You can leave a comment here, on my Facebook page, or just shoot me an email (hi@kimhartz.com).
Episode 000: Welcome!
This first episode is a quick intro in case you’re wondering who this Kim Hartz chick is anyway, and why the heck you should be listening to her (hint: I’ve been running my own successful photography business since 2010 and my studio is one of the most profitable home studios in the country!).
I’ll dig into how I got started in my photography career and share the tips, tools and strategies I’ve used to take my business from scratch to six figures, in a relatively short amount of time, and create a lifestyle full of freedom to enjoy my young family.
Episode 001: Opening a photography studio: 5 lessons I learned the hard way
In this episode I lay it all on the table, there’s no holding back. In it I divulge my toughest business lessons, some of them very nearly broke me…
…like, remembering to accrue the rent checks… and just because you wrote the check, doesn’t mean the money has left the building!
I share these stories, not to scare you or to make you feel sorry for me, but in the hopes you can glean some valuable knowledge to help you move forward with clarity in your own business.
So, settle back and listen up for what NOT to do in your business, so you can be better prepared than I was and hopefully avoid some of the inevitable challenges and pitfalls of business that lay ahead.
Episode 002: What is a brand and why do I need one?
This is a topic I can talk about all day long because I love branding and it’s super important for your business! (but don’t worry, in this particular podcast I’ve managed to condense all the very best bits into 15 power-packed minutes!)
In this super juicy episode I cover:
→ What is a brand? The definition you need to know – and it’s probably not what you think
→ Why branding is so key in setting your photography, and your studio, apart in a crowded market. And, nope, it’s not just about creating a new logo.
→ The power of a brilliant brand and how it can do all the heavy lifting for you when it comes to attracting or repelling the type of clients you want – and don’t want!
→ The five key elements of a solid brand and how to implement them for your business.
→ BONUS: I’ve also created a cheat sheet for the Key Branding Elements, and you can snag it right HERE!
There is so much value in this podcast, but it really is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to building a brilliant brand. I think you’re going to get a lot out of it, and I really hope you enjoy it!
