If you know me, even a little bit, you probably know that I’m a big advocate of taking the time to brand your business the right way. I’ve taught workshops, online courses, webinars, and recorded podcasts on the subject of branding because I know how important it is for your business. But, I have found that a lot of people confuse branding with marketing and focus on the wrong thing. What I mean is they focus on where to market but they don’t focus on the message they are marketing.
If you don’t spend time refining your message, your clients might not understand what you do and move on to the next photographer. I don’t want that to happen to you, which is why this week’s podcast episode is geared to that end.
In this episode I mention the book, Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller. I recently read this on vacation (it’s a super easy read by the way). This book really breaks down how to define your message to make it simple for your customers. I don’t want to give it all away because it is pretty eye opening. You can finally stop using flowery, confusing language and supplementing your lack of message with design. Get to the point and get more clients, that’s it.
You can knock this out in a couple of days, so let’s get to reading. Trust me, it will be worth your time!
